The Femme Visibility Matters Project is a movement in which femme lesbians and queer women across the world are encouraged to share their personal photos to combat the lack of diversity of femme lesbian and queer women in the media. We do not discriminate on the basis of cisgender/transgendered status, race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, disability, economic status, family responsibility, or political affiliation.
This call to action supports that Femme Visibility Matters.
My name is Sasha and I’m the founder and main writer for Card Carrying Lesbian ( http://www.cardcarryinglesbian.com/ ) I identify as a femme and have written about femme visibility many times, including on the Huffington Post ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sasha-lotrian/femme-lesbians-visibility_b_1239160.html ) In addition to blogging I also designed a jewelry line specifically because I was tired of being invisible. You can check it out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CardCarryingLesbian I would love to hear from other femmes, as I’m working on new project to highlight femmes around the world.
